Note "E'id" (عيد) being the arabic word for festival/holiday is spelled with the arabic equivalent of an ע, a ع.
דף ב,א רב ושמואל חד תני אידיהן וחד תני עידיהן... מאן דתני אידיהן לא משתבש דכתיב (דברים לב) כי קרוב יום אידם ומאן דתני עידיהן לא משתבש דכתיב (ישעיהו מג) יתנו עידיהם ויצדקו
[Curiously as well the arabic is spelled with the equivalent arabic letter י, as is spelled in the Gemara (עידיהן) , but in the actual מסורה it's spelled without the yud עדיהן]
