Hindu "Maya" and דובר שקרים לא יכון לנגד עיני

A startling resemblance and connection between the concept of Maya in Indian religions and Rabbi Akiva's water in Chagiga 14b:

ת"ר ארבעה נכנסו בפרדס ואלו הן בן עזאי ובן זומא אחר ורבי עקיבא אמר להם ר"ע כשאתם מגיעין אצל אבני שיש טהור אל תאמרו מים מים משום שנאמר (תהלים קא, ז) דובר שקרים לא יכון לנגד עיני

מחה, Water, and שמחה

See Breishit Rabba 28:2,3 that מחה is specifically connected to water.

Consequently it would seem a more appropriate translation of מחה being that of "liquidation". Water being the ultimate liquidating solvent or solution. Leading possibly then into שמחת המים of Sukkot.
